The Mechanical Monk is said to be the oldest robot of the world which is around 450 years old.
It is said that the robot was made on the order of Spanish king Phillip II after his son recovered from his injury. It is said that he had promised to god that if his sons recovers from injury he will deliver a miracle
When his son recovered he commissioned the best clockmaker of Spain who with his talent made this mechanical monk which walks and gives gesture like a monk through levers and iron cams.
