Baby Names Which Are Banned In Countries

childMost parents discuss for months to choose the best name for their child but there are awkward situations when your choice is rejected by the law. You may be astonished to know that there are baby names which are banned in countries.

In Denmark there is a list of 7,000 approved names, and if you want a name that’s not in the list you have to contact Copenhagen University’s Names Investigation Department for permission. Each year the department reviews 1,000 names rejecting 20%. Banned names include Anus, Monkey & Jakopb.

In France if the local registrar thinks the chosen name goes against the child interest they can contact the court, which have the power to ban that name. Some banned names include Nutella, Strawberry and Prince William.

Germany also has restrictions on baby names, and bans name which they think lead to humiliation to child. Such names include Adolf Hitler, Kohl & Osama Bin Ladin.
