Balochistan High Court (BHC) issued arrest warrant against Ex President General Pervez Musharraf in a case regarding murder of Nawaz Akbar Bugti. Such warrants were also issued previously and are bail able.
The counsel of General Musharraf pleaded to the court that the ex president cannot appear in the court for security reasons. The court ordered the government to provide security so that the general may appear in the court.
Nawaz Akbar Bugti was the ex governor of Balochistan but after differences on Musharraf’s policy he rebelled against the federal government. He was killed on the orders of Pervez Musharraf when he was invited for negotiations with government.
His death fueled the insurgency in Balochistan province, protests also erupted in other baloch inhabited areas such as Karachi.
