“No illegal collection from consumers; K-Electric has audited and transparent records”

Karachi: K-Electric via its press statement has denied the recent press reports of over-billing or any illegal collections from its consumers. The company further stated that the electricity tariff is set by the regulatory body and not by KE.

K-Electric’s press statement reiterates that KE respects its consumers and its billing and collection figures are regularly audited. KE works in accordance with the regulations of companies ordinance and SECP (Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan). It is further stated that KE’s audited accounts  are published on a quarterly basis in an open and transparent manner, and which are audited by a reputed audit firm.

K-Electric’s spokesperson said, “It is pertinent to mention that certain vested interests have been criticizing the turnaround management success of KE, where K-Electric is one of the top-performing companies in Pakistan and remains a successful symbol of Privatization.

Press statement in the end stated that KE has always acted in accordance to law and will continue to fully cooperate with any inquiry or officials for that matter.
