Senate Recommends FBR to Cancel Big Currency Notes

Pakistani notesChairman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Nisar Muhammad Khan met with Senate Standing Committee on Finance. He briefed them about the collection target and the results achieved so far.

He said that the target of 3,621 billion was unrealistic and proposed measures to increase the tax and revenue collection.

Senator Usman Saifullah recommended that there is a need to abolish currency notes of Rs. 5000. He said this will also help to increase government Revenue.

It was also noted that last year it was decided to give bureaucrats up to 120,000 for fuel and maintenance of their cars so that departments cost can be saved, but now it is being noted that the department cost is increasing while bureaucrats are also receiving the amount.
