Water shortage is among the major problems in Karachi for the past several years. Chronic shortage of water is experienced in residential as well as industrial areas of Karachi. Drinking water is scarce for residential as well as commercial areas. There are many areas of the city where water is supplied only one or two times a week.
Despite public protests and other forms of complaints, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) is not making any serious effort to resolve this issue. People are so fed up that they have even demanded to handover the management of KWSB to the Rangers. The Sindh government needs to pay attention and take immediate steps to resolve this matter; otherwise, the situation will become worse.
