People usually think that heart related problems, sugar or diseases like cancer & hepatitis are responsible for killing millions. But in reality there is another disease which is also life threatening known as Venous thromboembolism.
Each year at least 10 million people are affected by it, in United States the death toll due to VTE is near 300,000 while in Europe around 544,000 people die each year because of this disease. In Asia and Africa the death toll seems to be far higher.
It occurs when blood clot forms in one of our body’s deep vein, usually in legs. Then suddenly the blood clot can break loose and lodges in lung stopping blood flow which results in death.
