Meher Bukhari criticized the statement of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and said that his claim that electricity unit is at Rs. 10 is not true.
She told that that 60% of consumers are paying Rs. 12/unit at day while Rs. 18/unit at peak hours.
She also disclosed that when NEPRA decided to reduce the cost of electricity units, because of the decreasing production cost and the reduction in cost of furnace oil, the federal government stopped it.
It’s the only Federal Government in the history of Pakistan which acquired stay orders against NEPRA which was trying to transfer the relief to consumer.
