Musharraf in an interview said that the Indians brought forward their army on the border in 2002 for 10 months. I also deployed our army on the borders. They wanted a fight and I was ready to give them one.
Musharraf in that interview revealed that I still remember that one night we got the information through our intelligence that Indians were planning a limited scale air attack in the Azad Kashmir region.
At that time Air Chief was Musharraf Ali Mir, I immediately ordered him that if the enemy attacks, I want a counter strike right back at the very moment without any hesitation.
He said that I gave this open message. Let them come. We’ll handle them. And they did not come because even though we are a small country but we have a strong military.
