2500 illegal connections removed by K-Electric 

Karachi: Operation Burq, KE’s campaign against defaulters and thieves continued with some positive results as some residential and commercial thieves were targeted. Releasing the details of the ongoing Operation it is said that the law enforcing agencies along with KE’s team raided different residential and commercial pockets against heavy defaulters and Electricity thieves.

According to KE’s press statement, In the recent 20 raids almost 2500 illegal connections were removed which weighed over 700 KG. KE has been conducting these raids with the help of FIA and Rangers in areas where KE used to face resistance before. Areas that were raided included Nazimabad, FB Area, Shah Faisal, Bin Qasim, Gadap, Garden, Baldia amongst others.

A direct KUNDA (illegal connection) use inside a commercial premise was detected at the time of raid at a mineral Water company’s (RO Plant) in Gazdarabad Sadr area. The consumer was charged with penalty and investigation against the involved had started. In another raid with police a commercial consumer pertaining to Baldia was charged with penalty and on the spot payment was made in this case as well.

The vicinities of Drig colony, Shah Faisal and Roshanabad  were raided with Rangers and police where the major residential kunda infested residential projects were targeted. It is also worth mentioning that people of different vicinities are approaching to their concerned KE offices  for the settlements of dues/ outstanding payments.
