International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Karachi

Karachi: An estimated 5 million people in Pakistan are living with disabilities. There are many steps that government, companies, hospitals, schools and members of civil society can take to help those living with disabilities achieve their potential.

To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Aga Khan University Hospital is holding an interactive panel session on December 2 featuring health experts and patients living with physical, sensory and cognitive impairments who have overcome their disability to become CEOs, leaders of civil rights organizations and professors.

In line with the theme for this year’s International Day, Achieving 17 Goals for the Future We Want, panelists will discuss the measures and policies mentioned in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the role of these goals in building a more inclusive and equitable world for persons with disabilities.
