Nurses should be Honored Daily: Aseefa Bhutto

Karachi: Addressing at the Pakistan’s First Nursing Award ceremony held in a local hotel, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari acknowledged the services of nurses not only in Pakistan but all over the world. The event was jointly organized by Pakistan Nurses Forum and The Professionals Network with the collaboration of Ministry of Health Government of Sindh on the International Nurses Day 2016. Aseefa said that it is the noble profession and we all should recognize the services at all levels including Government, private and corporate and public.

She also said that I will do my level best to support this noble cause to serve the humanity and am always available to extend any kind of cooperation in this regard. She also says that all other professions are time framed profession except the nurses profession which is 24/7 and they should be honored not only on the nursing day but on a daily basis.

Ex Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan, Chairman KAATI Zahid Saeed and Chairman PSO Sardar Yasin Malik also attended the event. Speaking at the occasion Sarfaraz Asif, President PNF said that it was dreamed about 3 years back, when it was conceptualized that the services of nurses in Pakistan should be recognized at a visible platform in the presence of government, social, nursing and international representatives. Saleem Michale advocate, Chairman PNF also spoke at the occasion. He announced that the same event will be organized in all four provinces and the next event will be held in Lahore for Punjab region.

Nadeem Sheikh advocate, Patron PNF thanked the chief guest and all other dignitaries and foreign diplomats for supporting this cause.  Vote of thanks was given by Mehmood Tareen, Founder & CEO, The Professionals Network. 32 female and male nurses were awarded the shields on their best performance in their respective organizations. Certificates of appreciation were given to 30 nurses from 29 different government hospitals and nursing colleges.

The event was attended by a large number of nurses, academia, CEO’s from corporate sector, social sector, media and the government officials. The event was concluded with the remarks that the services of nurses will be acknowledged and recognized at all the level of society and every one will contribute to this within their resources.
