Women organizations across Pakistan held Women Dignity Walks in different cities of Pakistan from Karachi to Islamabad advocating for the rights of women.
A large number of women participated in these walks along with their families calling for the implementation of the Islamic rights and values regarding women which our country and society lacks.
The participants called for inheritance rights, mehr rights and assurance of livelihood. They said that Islam gave women their rights 1400 years ago but still in Pakistan these rights are not provided.
Social media users supported the dignity walk on different social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook.
The response of common citizens regarding the Women Dignity Walk was quite different from Aurat March which received criticism due to its slogans and demands.
