ATM machines not only gives you cash but also gives you bacteria and germs, this was revealed by a new study which investigated different ATM machines in New York City.
The head researcher Jane Carlton, who is a Professor at New York University, said:
“Our results suggest that ATM keypads integrate microbes from different sources, including the human microbiome, foods, and potentially novel environmental organisms adapted to air or surfaces”
The researchers also found parasite which are found only in human guts and Trichomonas vaginalis which can carry sexually transmitted diseases.
That’s why it is recommended to wash your hands by anti-bacterial products after using ATM machines.
