Australia is moving due to tectonic plates like other continents, but the speed is faster than any other place. Each year it moves 7 centimeters while other move just 1.5 centimeters on average.
Geologist believes that Australia is moving faster because of its unique geographical position, it is coming closer to equator each year.
Now it has been reported that the GPS is not correct regarding Australia because Australia last updated its position (longitude and latitude) in 1994, which means approximately Australia have moved more than 150 centimeters.
