Renowned Pakistani Actress Shamim Ara Passed Away

Renowned Pakistani film actress, producer and director Shamim Ara passed away in London on August 5th.

The Pakistani actress suffered brain haemorrhage in 2010 and was ill for a very long time. She was admitted in a hospital in Lahore. The Prime Minister of that time, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also inquired her health and gave her a cheque of 5 lac rupees.

Later she was taken to London for better medical treatment by the family and was reported in a coma as of 2014.

Shamim Ara was born in British India at Aligarh in 1938. Her family visited Karachi in 1956 and Shamim Ara ran into a famous Pakistani film director Najam Naqvi, who was looking for new talent for his upcoming new movie Kunwari Bewa. She was cast for the movie and her film acting career was launched. She acted in over 80 movies and also produced and directed many.
