LPG Cylinder Price May Exceed Rs. 10,000

Oct 23, 2026

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices in Pakistan have surged sharply, reaching as high as Rs750 per kilogram in the northern areas, as the government considers shifting from monthly to daily price setting.

The government is weighing the introduction of a daily pricing mechanism to replace the existing monthly system for LPG, aimed at preventing winter price hikes and curbing hoarding.

However, there are concerns that the move could push cylinder prices beyond Rs10,000.

Importers have called for a revision of the current formula and suggested setting prices on a weekly or daily basis instead of monthly.

The potential shift to daily pricing comes amid fears that the cost of LPG cylinders could exceed Rs10,000, adding to the financial pressure on households ahead of the winter season.
