Xiaomi Officially Launches SU7 Ultra Electric Hypercar
Xiaomi has launched the SU7 Ultra, a high-performance electric sedan, aiming to compete with major electric vehicles like the Zeekr 001 FR, Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, Tesla Model S Plaid, and Lucid Air Sapphire.
Power and Speed
The SU7 Ultra boasts three electric motors—two Xiaomi V8s and one V6—producing 1,526 horsepower. This setup powers the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h. It covers a quarter-mile in 9.23 seconds, placing it firmly in the hypercar category.
Battery Technology
The sedan is powered by a 93.7 kWh Qilin 2.0 battery from CATL. Featuring dual-surface cooling, cell-to-body (CTB) construction, and 5.2C fast charging, the battery charges from 10% to 80% in 11 minutes.
The SU7 Ultra builds on the SU7 sedan’s design with a sportier look. A large spoiler, wide body, and redesigned bumpers provide 265 kg of downforce, enhancing stability. It comes with 21-inch Pirelli P Zero 5 tires for better road grip.
Pricing
Inside, the car blends luxury with sportiness. Alcantara and leather cover the seats and interior surfaces, while carbon fiber adds a modern touch. Sport seats, yellow seatbelts, and an alcantara steering wheel complete the look.
Priced at RMB 814,900 ($114,000) in China, the SU7 Ultra is competitively priced in its class. Production starts in March 2025, with pre-orders open now.
